Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is one of the most visited places in Canada. It is one of the 7 wonders of the world. The falls are about 12,000 years old! The falls were formed when melted glaciers formed lakes. It is also the Honeymoon capital of the world. It is made up of 2 falls, the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. It is the oldest state park in the United States. Almost 3,160 tons of water fall every single second. About 140 acres out of the 400 aces of the falls are underwater. Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is a steep-sided gorge in the United States, located in Williams Arizona. For over 2 billion years, the Colorado River has carved the Grand Canyon into a 277 mile long & a 4-18 mile wide canyon, the largest canyon in the world. Prior to European emigration, the canyon was inhabited by Native Americans who built settlements within the canyon & its many caves. The Grand Canyon became a national park in 1919, 3 years after the creation of the national park service. 5 million people visit the canyon each year. The Grand Canyon is an amazing site to see! Boulder (Hoover) Dam

The Hoover Dam, also known as the Boulder Dam, is a dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River located between the borders of  Arizona and Nevada. It is the 35th-largest hydroelectric generating station in the world. It was named after Herbert Hoover who was, first the Secretary of Commerce, then the President of the United States. The Hoover Dam’s construction was started in 1931 and completed 1935, which was also two years ahead of schedule.  The Hoover Dam was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1985. New York City

New York City is the most populous city in the United States, containing 8.2 million people.The cityhas many important businesses and landmarks, like the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and the UN Headquarters. It also used to have the World Trade Center, also known as the Twin Towers. Sadly, on September 9 2001, two terrorist planes crashed into both of them and destroyed them along with many people who were present that day. The City contains five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. The city’s area is just less than 305 square miles, and in 2005, nearly 170 languages were spoken in the city. The city is also referred to as the City that Never Sleeps and the Big Apple. Washington D.C.

Why is Washington D.C. one of the greatest cities in the world?  Washington D.C. is a great tourist attraction and its historic history has a lot to do with that. It is the nations capital and it is home of the white house.   Washington D.C. is a very nice and peaceful place. The President and his family live in the White House which is one of the most famous landmarks in the world! Washington D.C is also home to the Washington Monument. Which stands proudly in the center of Washington D.C.  It is also the home of the Lincoln memorial. To honor our nations 16thpresident Abraham Lincoln. But we can’t forget about the Vietnam memorial which is a reminder of the brave soldiers that got killed risking their lives fighting for our country. Yosemite Valley

Yosemite is a national park in California. It was designated a World Heritage site in 1984. The park covers an area of 1,189 square miles, and the park also reaches the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain chain. It gets rain in the months of January, February and March. Its summers are generally dry and hot.  It is visited by3.5 million people every year. Some of the many places to see in Yosemite is Yosemite Valley, Glacier point and badger pass just to name a few The closest city to Yosemite is Mariposa. See Yosemite Valley Video
